Fingerprint Biometrics

When our clients ask for a biometric clock it’s usually because they have “buddy punching” in their organization. Buddy punching is when you have two or more employees clocking each other in and out. It can be a common practice with hourly staff.

When it comes to finger print scanners, many biometric experts point to two different types of readers, capacitive and optical. It’s been our experience that for clock devices the capacitive readers have shown us the best results. By using a capacitive reader we are able to identify the employee by measuring the ridges and valleys in their print. We use this identifier to match up with the employee information and now, there’s no way Tim can clock in John. If you think you have “buddy punching” in your organization, our fingerprint scanner will help you control it. This could save you thousands of dollars!

Biopad is a powerful, flexible time management terminal using the Windows CE7 operating system and including an integrated fingerprint reader. The BioPad ships with a standard time and attendance application, but an SDK can be provided allowing design and installation of custom applications. Based on a dual core 1.5GHz processor, the platform allows for future updating as new capabilities are required. Communication interfaces such as Ethernet, USB Host, USB Client and Wi-Fi allow for versatile connectivity virtually anywhere.
