Consecutive Days OT policy

How Can We Help?

Consecutive Days OT policy

If you set to 0 the After field in Consecutive Day Rule options, the rule will take the hours worked that xth day and apply the multiplier defined to them.

As always, if you set multipliers 1.5 the time will be moved to OT and for 2.0 to DT.

If you set After hours field to any value different than 0, the rule will summarize all worked hours for the week and will move to OT or DT only the time worked “after” those hours.

For example, if the employee worked 8 hours every day along the week, that would give 48 hours for the first 6 days.

If you set the Consecutive Day After field to 48, all worked hours on that xth will be moved to OT or DT according to the multiplier.

Another example, if you set the Consecutive Day After field to 50, the hours worked after the first 2 hours on that xth will be moved to OT or DT according to the multiplier.

On another subject, something important you have to think about when you have to set consecutive day rules, is when the OT week actually starts.

This is defined with the Day field in the Premium Week Def group.

The day number is calculated based in this configuration, so if you defined a 7th consecutive day premium and the OT week started on Sunday, then the 7th day will be Saturday.

This is important to understand the rule works and how it looks at the data.

There could be differences between this and when the pay periods start.

For example, if a weekly pay period starts on Monday and you have the OT week defined as starting on Sunday, it is very important you understand that the 7th day will not be applied on Sunday (because of the Pay Period) but on Saturday because of the actual OT week def.

Finally, current version TreeRing Time v8 doesn’t support more than one option on the same xth day for consecutive day rule, and currently there is no plan to add support to it.

So, the option you described as 1.5 first 8 hours and 2.0 after that is not currently supported.

pay period starts on Monday and you defined the start of the Premium Week Def on Sunday, so, for the OT rule, the 7th day would be Saturday and there is no 7 consecutive days punches on that 5/13 Saturday.
