To set up eTimeClock to use a barcode scanner you have to change the parameter value UseAlphaKeyboard by 2 in the web.config file that is in the path “c:\inetpub\wwwroot\eTimeClock”, besides the parameter CompanyCode has to be completed with the company name, all the text together and in upper case.

To check that the barcode scanner is working fine, just ask to the customer that open a notepad and try to scan some code and that way you will see how is read the code by the scanner, in some cases the barcode scanners send an ENTER after scanning and that may cause an error in the application.
